INDIA: As convenience becomes an important part of everyday household services, professional laundry and garment care are gaining attention as a business category. Mera Laundry, founded by Aman Bajaj, is building its franchise-led approach around a simple proposition: help local entrepreneurs enter the laundry sector with a defined operating model, service standards and support for setting up and running an outlet.

The company reports serving more than 7 lakh customers across 10+ cities. This figure is based on company-provided information and should be confirmed against current records before publication. Its franchise model is intended for people looking to establish a local service business while working with a shared brand, established processes and guidance on training, marketing, technology and operations.

Why the Laundry Business Is Drawing Interest

Laundry is a recurring need for households as well as many organisations. Busy schedules, urban living and demand for convenient pickup and delivery can create opportunities for professional providers. Potential customers may include working professionals, families, offices, hotels, restaurants and salons that require regular garment or textile care.

A market estimate published by TechSci Research valued India’s broader laundry service market at approximately US$36.34 billion in 2024 and projected it to reach US$44.67 billion by 2030. The estimate covers the wider market, including organised and unorganised providers; it is not a measure of the franchise market alone. Market projections vary by methodology, and sector growth does not guarantee the profitability of an individual outlet.

A Franchise Model with Operational Support

Opening a laundry outlet involves more than selecting equipment and leasing a store. Location, service mix, garment-handling procedures, staffing, pricing, customer communication and delivery logistics all influence day-to-day performance. Mera Laundry’s published franchise information describes support in training, marketing, technology and operations, with a process that can include application, evaluation, training, setup and launch.

For prospective partners, the practical value of this support depends on the terms agreed and how it is delivered. Before signing, applicants should request written details of setup costs, equipment and fit-out inclusions, working capital, territory conditions, training, marketing responsibilities, recurring fees and post-launch assistance.

Laundry and Garment-Care Services

Mera Laundry’s service range includes wash and fold, wash and iron, express laundry and dry cleaning. Its wider offering also refers to steam ironing and care for selected household items such as shoes, bags, blankets and curtains. Availability can vary by outlet, so franchise partners should assess local demand and confirm which services will be offered in their chosen area.

A balanced service mix may help an outlet serve different needs, from routine household laundry to specialised garment care and bulk orders. However, the right mix depends on neighbourhood demand, competition, operating costs, service quality and the ability to retain repeat customers.

Aman Bajaj’s Approach to Franchise-Led Growth

Under founder Aman Bajaj, Mera Laundry is positioning franchising as a way to extend its service network while giving local entrepreneurs a framework for running their businesses. The model brings together local ownership with shared operating processes and technology-supported coordination. As with any business investment, outcomes depend on the specific location, financial planning, execution and customer response; earnings or break-even results should never be treated as guaranteed.

How to Explore a Mera Laundry Franchise

Entrepreneurs considering a laundry franchise in India can begin by reviewing the company’s current proposal and discussing whether the model suits their preferred city. A realistic business plan should account for total setup costs, working capital, staffing, rent, utilities, local competition and ongoing charges. Reviewing the contract and financial assumptions carefully can help applicants make a better-informed decision.
