The Central Reserve Police Force has opened the next stage of its 2026 Sports Quota recruitment process, with applications for 521 posts of Head Constable (General Duty) and Constable (General Duty) scheduled to begin on October 12. Eligible male and female sportspersons can submit their applications online, with the registration window remaining open until November 11, 2026.
The recruitment is intended for meritorious sportspersons who meet the prescribed criteria based on their participation, medals or positions in eligible national and international sporting competitions. The notification covers vacancies across multiple sports disciplines.
CRPF Sports Quota 2026 Vacancy Details
The 521 vacancies are divided between the two posts. There are 182 openings for Head Constable (GD), including 150 positions for men and 32 for women.
The Constable (GD) category accounts for the remaining 339 positions. Of these, 258 are earmarked for male candidates and 81 for female candidates.
The recruitment notification specifies that applicants must be Indian residents and must satisfy the eligibility requirements applicable to the advertised sports disciplines. Candidates are required to provide relevant documentation supporting their sporting achievements during the application process.
Applications Open October 12
Online registration will start at 9 am on October 12, 2026. Candidates will have until 11:59 pm on November 11 to complete the application process and submit the required information and documents.
Applications are to be submitted through the CRPF recruitment portal. Candidates should carefully check the official notification for the applicable eligibility conditions, document requirements and instructions before completing the form.
A correction window is scheduled after the application deadline, running from November 12 to November 14, according to details published from the recruitment notice.
Sports Achievements Will Determine Merit
Unlike a conventional recruitment process in which written examination marks form the main basis for ranking, this Sports Quota recruitment places particular importance on candidates' sporting records.
The notification states that the merit list will be prepared using marks assigned for eligible sports certificates and achievements. In case candidates receive the same total score, the older candidate will receive preference under the stated tie-breaking provision.
Candidates should therefore ensure that the certificates submitted with their applications meet the notification's requirements. The recruitment notice specifies that the relevant sports achievement or certificate should fall within the prescribed two-year period.
What Candidates Should Check
Before applying, prospective candidates should verify their sporting discipline, achievement requirements, eligibility conditions and supporting documents against the official recruitment notification. Any mismatch in certificates or information could affect an application during scrutiny.
The CRPF Sports Quota recruitment provides a separate entry route into the force for eligible sportspersons. With 521 positions available across the Head Constable and Constable categories, candidates who meet the sporting criteria can prepare their documents ahead of the October 12 opening date.
The application process will remain open for about a month, giving eligible candidates time to complete registration before the November 11 deadline.
